Protecting trees for a better future

 

Trees are extremely valuable to the world. They are a major part of nature and the future of humans depends greatly on the natural environment. Compared to many other countries Sri  Lanka is blessed with attractive and beautiful rainforests. One of the best example is the Sinharaja Rain forest which is the only undisturbed rain forest left in Sri Lanka.

             Trees provide us with oxygen,which is essential for life and they absord carbon dioxide,by helping to reduce global warming. They also play a vital role in maintaining the balance of the eco system by providing shelter and food for animals and birds. In addition trees prevent soil erosion,protect water resources and help control the climate by bringing rainfall.

                 They provide timber, fruits,medicines and many other resources that support to the human life. Therefore protecting tress is not just a responsibility but a necessity. If we destroy forests ,we destroy our own future. Let's plant more trees in order to ensure a better healthier world for the future generation.
